First Aid Beauty|Review

When I used to work at Sephora, one of the first brands I was introduced to was First Aid Beauty. At the time I was on acne medication that dried out my skin/lips. The first product I tested from their line was the Ultra Repair Cream. This antioxidant, rich in vitamins, moisturizer was a godsend. With little to no fragrance, I had no irritations and was able to calm and hydrate my face. Recently I have found myself with normal/combo skin and decided to try a couple more products from the range.

The Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum contains hyaluronic acid which plumps and softens skin. The product is clear and glides smoothly onto the skin. I use this on my face, neck, and décolleté. This guy is really great if you are just getting into using serums or treatment products as it is gentle yet effective.

Staying with my beloved Ultra Repair line, I have been using the Face Moisturizer both day and night.  I apply this after my serum as my last step in my regimen. My favorite part about this product is the texture and finish it leaves my skin. Unlike other moisturizers, this melts into your skin without leaving a oily or greasy texture. It is for sure on the lightweight scale so if you have deeply dehydrated skin, this might not be enough. However, this does not break me out or cause any skin irritation-perfect for all seasons of the year.

As we are getting into the hottest months of the year, yikes, I always like to find a good mattifying skincare product I can wear under makeup. I use this Oil-Free Mattifying Gel instead of a moisturizer before I apply my makeup. This is supposed to control oil while still hydrating the skin. I have found that I cannot layer too many products while using this because it will ball up on the skin. My tip for you is to use this as both your moisturizer and primer to avoid any annoyance.

If you are looking for a great skincare line in the mid price-range, I would definitely recommend First Aid Beauty.  I love their simple-yet effective formulas. Recently they have come out with more cosmeceutical grade skincare ingredients like Retinol and AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids). Super excited to try those next!
